XS4ALL no more?

According to an article in a Dutch Telecom newsletter, KPN is considering making the XS4ALL brand name disappear. The plan is to have only three remaining brands: KPN, Hi and Telfort. I’m venturing to guess that KPN is underestimating user backlash, but who am I to say what’s good for business?

Update: Apparently it’s a misunderstanding. According to a response by Simon Hania to a thread in newsgroup xs4all.general, the XS4ALL name will continue to exist.

Update2: And here‘s even a stronger denial. OK, false alarm.

  • After reading some more, I am not at ease.

I think the “miscommunication” excuse was just that: an excuse. Or at least KPN’s own CEO makes a habit of giving unfortunate statements repeatedly.

  • Eelco

Seems to me that this was a first rumour, easy to deny, with the sole purpose to make everyone ready for what will happen later. A CEO doesn’t make this kind of mistakes.

  • Well, they might as well remove the brand as I can’t recognize anything in the current XS with regards to the XS4All of lore…..

    RIP XS4All…. *sob*
