The above comments proclaiming their belief in EVM are illogical.

Are these people suggesting that it is a crime to get hold of an EVM to prove that it can be hacked?

Is it not possible to steal an EVM by unscrupulous elements and start tampering with the system?

What Hariprasad has done is what the hackers do. Hackers contribute to better a system by proving that they can break into it. Why not take Hariprasad's contribution in its positive sense and better the EVM (now that it is proven that it has weaknesses).

volgens de BBC ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-11136021 ) :

"We hope to speak to him over the phone very soon. Phone calls are not frequent because that could depress them and make them feel nostalgic. A psychologist evaluates the possibility every day, and we follow his decision.

So we write to him every day, as does the rest of the family. We tell him we love him and that we are praying for him. We ask him to remain faithful. He also hopes to see us soon.

The letters are also checked by the psychologists. They check that we don't tell them things that could affect them - they don't need more problems that the ones they already have."

It might be the case that there just isn't enough room to run those cables.

Call me an idiot, but I'm having só much fun over this gem I just discovered through WikiLeaks Twitter account... Plain, old-fashioned, innocent fun!

:-)

Wikileaks Servers Move To Underground Nuclear Bunker

Article on the Michael Moore website, August 30

Don't worry; I'm fully aware that in fact all of "WikiLeaks" is a very serious subject in any case. But certainly in view of the media 'man hunt' for Assange, the false accusations, the all too obvious ping-pong between Pentagon & White House (and CIA), the twisted logic to accuse WikiLeaks of bringing lives in danger whereas the biggest threat to human life (in Afghanistan) certainly never came from WikiLeaks....

If there ever seemed to be an entirely appropriate place to store a couple of servers in difficult times, it must be where they are now.

Great way, with this 'Bahnhof ISP', for a transformation of evil inspired energy (Cold War nuclear bunker) into something much more positive for the future: less secrets, more transparency, hopefully resulting in less idiotic wars and violence.

I don't know if the average miner in Chile would have a clue about how to use an iPhone, or internet for that matter. On the other hand, it's a nice opportunity to read 'internet for dummies' now that they have a forced break from their daily activities.

I think we are missing the point in the above thread. There is a person who has done some research and proven that EVM can be tampered. And apparently, for proving this he is being chased by the authorities. This, in my opinion is not acceptable.
The fact that whether EVMs can be physically accessible to conduct a forgery is another one. The researcher does not comment on that anyways. The research is on tamperproofness of EVMs and not the process with which Election Commision physically guards it..

Then there is the point of rigging the polls. When there were no EVMs, the polls were still rigged amidst strict security measures. So why should one assume that it may not happen anymore. Coupled with the fact that some people can get through the physical security protocols and that EVMs can be tampered with, we as Indian atleast should debate the topic.....
